"I'm a cisgendered white woman who is an advocate for trans people of color. I started this path of advocacy while pursuing women's studies and the marginalization of women. We then began discussing "what is a woman?" I connected with the ideas, and began working on trans research. I'm in school pursuing my masters degree in social work and public health, and I'm currently interning with the Mazzoni Center. I'm looking at public health and HIV through a macro lens with a focus on trans people of color, as HIV is a structural and systematic situation that effects populations. I'm also working with a trans support group called Sisterly Love. I have a lot of compassion and empathy for people who experience discrimination due to the identity that is totally intrinsic within themselves."
