Legally Recognizing Love
Our photojournalist walked by these lovely couples at Sante Fe Pride in New Mexico. We just had to stop and have a chat about how they felt about the recent SCOTUS ruling.
"We've been together 43 years, and they've been together 38 years. We are all married now. We thought we didn't need our country to recognize our love, but the passing of the SCOTUS ruling made us think differently. When people were talking about the passing of marriage in our country in the 1970s and 1980s, everyone thought we were nuts. The recent ruling was something we had never thought we'd live to see."
